Camp Australia
My role // Lead a small team of designers with hand-on work
Activities undertaken // Customer interviews, rapid prototyping, Information architecture, device and usability testing
Challenge
Camp Australia is the largest provider of before and after school care services in Australia.
They were looking for a modern technology solution to manage and track children-in-session and expedite enrolment process. They were largely reliant on paper-based solutions which cost them millions of dollars every year in maintenance and archiving.
Approach
Understand the school-care environment and uncover areas of opportunity by observing and interviewing staff members.
We went out to:
Define the target audience and segment into personas based on age, years of childcare experience and smart-device literacy
Validate business pain-points and potential solutions by rapid prototyping & intercept testing using sketches
Iterative product design based on Lean UX principle (Build-Measure-Learn)
Outcome
We rapidly built and tested a progressive web app with over 200 after school professionals across 18 school.
We saw a staggering:
90% user adoption in the first 4 weeks with a a total of 300% increase in user satisfaction
Almost 80% reduction in errors saving hours of time
Ability to track and manage any child from anywhere
A saving to $2m per year in expenses
